Black chamber to host Ron Brown summit in Los Angeles

The California Black Chamber of Commerce will hold its 21st annual Ron Brown Business Summit and Women’s Symposium Aug. 25-27 at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel in Los Angeles.

The theme is “Dedicated to Economic Empowerment.” The cost for non-chamber members is $325.

The keynote speakers for the summit include Shuanise Washington, president and chief executive officer of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Inc., Robert S. Kenney, vice president of the California Public Utilitiy Commission, and Cynthia Marshall, senior vice president human resources ad chief diversity officer with AT&T.

In addition to the main meeting, the event will host a free youth summit for students ages 16 to 25, and the deadline to register is Aug. 6. Young people will have an opportunity to play business-related games, attend workshops and create a start-up business.
