LOS ANGELES, Calif.–A water main ruptured today in an unincorporated area north of Inglewood, causing some street flooding and disrupting residential water service.
The break occurred in the area of 62nd Street and Overhill Drive in Windsor Hills, just west of Los Angeles, around 2 a.m., drawing Los Angeles County firefighters to the site, said fire dispatch Supervisor Ed Pickett.
The flooding affected both sides of La Brea Avenue from 64th Street to 62nd Street, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Anthony Martin.
The intersection of 62nd Street and Overhill Drive was blocked off, but there was no significant road damage as a result of the flooding, said county fire dispatcher Robert Diaz.
California American Water, the company that supplies water in the area, said through a spokeswoman that crews were working to repair the pipe but that it could not be immediately estimated when they will finish. In the meantime, residents of 62nd Street between La Brea and Overhill may notice they have no water, low water pressure or cloudy water, she said.

UPDATE
A crew from California American Water, the company that supplies water in the area, finished repairs on the 6-inch main line at about 10:30 a.m., company spokesman Brian Barreto said.
Barreto said water service was restored to customers and there were three to four connections that were interrupted because of the break.
