Crenshaw Christian Center hosts literary experience

Kimberla Lawson Roby is telling black women’s stories in such books as Love & Lies, It’s A Thin Line, Here And Now and her debut title, Behind Close Doors. And now her new book, “Sin No More.”
Crenshaw Christian Center will host a literary experience about black women and real Christianity with Kimberla on Sunday, May 4 at 6 p.m. in the Main Auditorium, 7901 S. Vermont Ave. in Los Angeles. Admission is free.
From sin to sensational, from temptation to triumph and today’s black Christian woman, Kimberla’s stories are being called page turners by such avid readers at Dr. Betty Price and Cheryl Price.
Kimberla said although she writes provocative stories, she prefers to be called an inspirational writer because her content is still family friendly, unlike the onslaught of erotic literature targeting African American women by filling book stores in urban communities.
“I am an advocate for women everywhere,” said Kimberla. “Whether it’s taboo or whether it’s controversial, if I feel it’s important enough to help a woman, that’s the only thing I’m interested in writing.”
