Guidance Church of Religious Science

Los Angeles, CA -- Guidance Church of Religious Science, 7225 Crenshaw Blvd., schedules an afternoon of jazz on Sunday, April 5. The concert beginning at 3 p.m., will feature vocalist Crystal Lauth.

Formerly with the singing group “Mystique,” Lauth has been a solo artist for over a decade. During her musical career, she has performed with many talented artists in the business, as a backup singer for Aretha Franklin at the Greek Theatre and with R&B singer Marques Houston.

Churches vandalized

Crime spree

Los Angeles, CA -- Two South Los Angeles churches were vandalized in a weekend crime spree.

The Church of Scientology Community Center located at 8039 S. Vermont Ave. was the recipient of hate messages and graffiti on Saturday.

Saint Mark United Methodist Church located at 8305 S. Gramercy Pl. suffered a shattered stained glass window, spent fire extinguishers and burglary.

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the vandals.

Bishop Violet L. Fisher to speak

Los Angeles, CA -- Bishop Violet L. Fisher of Wilmington, Del., is scheduled to conduct a three-nights revival, Wednesday through Friday, March 11-13. The revival will begin at 7 p.m. at Holman United Methodist Church, 3320 W. Adams Blvd., and is sponsored by the Ebony Prophets of Greater Los Angeles.
