Usher, Nicki Minaj will perform at the 40th Anniversary American Music Awards
Winners will be determined by online voting
LOS ANGELES, Calif.—Ke$ha, No Doubt and Usher will perform at the 40th Anniversary American Music Awards, Dick Clark Productions announced today.
They’ll join previously announced performers Carrie Underwood, P!nk, Pitbull, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Linkin Park and Christina Aguilera on the show, which will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre at L.A. LIVE on Sunday, Nov. 18 and aired on ABC.
For the sixth year, winners will be determined by online voting. Fans can vote at the Coca-Cola AMA voting website, amavote.com, as well as AMA.abc.com. Artists will be honored in the categories of Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Alternative, Adult Contemporary, Latin, Contemporary Inspirational and, for the first time, Electronic Dance Music.

Nicki Minaj and Rihanna each earned four nominations today for the 40th American Music Awards, putting them atop the pack of hopefuls, while Justin Bieber, Drake, Maroon 5, Usher and One Direction each earned three.
Minaj and Rihanna were both nominated for favorite female pop/rock artist, along with Kelly Clarkson and Katy Perry. Rihanna and Perry also received nods for artist of the year, as did Bieber, Drake and Maroon 5.
Billed as “the biggest night in music,” the Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards has evolved since its start in 2001 into a major effort to celebrate the accomplishments of musicians, actors and sports stars.
All told, there are … persons/acts nominated to receive honors in 20 categories at the July 1 event, and the music category is loaded with the majority of recipients. Actor Samuel L. Jackson, declared the highest-grossing movie actor of all time, according to the Guinness Book of World Records, will be this year’s BET Awards host.
NEW YORK, N.Y.—BET Networks announced that actor/comedian Kevin Hart has been tapped to host this year’s BET Awards. Ranked among the top five cable award shows every year among total viewers. The brightest night in music will broadcast live from the historic Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 26 on BET.
Paris Hilton is the newest member of one of Hip-Hop’s hottest labels.
The heiress and reality star has signed with Cash Money Records, which is home to hitmakers Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Drake. Cash Money’s co-founder Bryan “Birdman” Williams tweeted a welcome to Hilton on Wednesday, causing Hilton’s name to cruise at the top of the social media’s trending topics for hours.
