Police searching for driver of a Ford Mustang

 

LOS ANGELES - A man was wounded today in an outbreak of gun violence outside a Hollywood night club, police said.

The 25-year-old man was shot in the back as he walked near Cahuenga Boulevard and Yucca Street, said Los Angeles police Officer Gregory Baek. 

He was transported to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, Baek said.

Police were seeking the shooter, described only as man in his early 20s who fled in a vehicle, Baek said.

The shooting occurred outside Wonderland near Franklin Avenue and Cahuenga Boulevard around 1:45 a.m. following a concert by Compton rapper``Problem'' and Inglewood hip hop group``Cali Swag District,'' witnesses told news camera crews at the scene.

Some words were exchanged between audience members, and people started rushing for the doors, they said, adding that during the ensuing chaos outside, two shots were fired, and a road crew member for one of the acts was struck in the upper back.

The shooter fled in a Ford Mustang, according to reports from the scene.

    HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—Police shot and killed a suspect who was firing at vehicles in Hollywood, and at least one other person was wounded.

    Officers were sent to the area of Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street about 10:20 a.m., said Los Angeles Police Officer Cleon Joseph of the Media Relations office. The suspect, who was not immediately identified, died at the scene.

    The shooting occurred around 9:10 p.m. Monday near the intersection of 84th Street and 2nd Avenue, Inglewood police Sgt. Greg Held said.
