Mitrice Richardson may be in Las Vegas
Los Angeles woman has been missing since September 17
LOS ANGELES, Calif.— Mitrice Richardson, missing since she was released from the sheriff’s lockup in Calabasas on September 17, may be in Las Vegas, according to police there.
Richardson, 25, was arrested for not paying her bill at Geoffrey’s restaurant in Malibu, where she reportedly was displaying signs of manic depression. She was released shortly after midnight without her car or her purse and has not been seen since.
Her disappearance initiated massive searches of the canyons between the coast and the Malibu/Lost Hills sheriff’s station. However no clues to her whereabouts were found.
Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said the Las Vegas police and the L.A. County Sheriff Department will hold a joint press conference today to “tell Ms. Richardson she is not in any trouble and is not subject to arrest, but please contact us.”
Whitmore would not confirm a report from Michael Richardson, the woman’s father, who said a deputy told him there were about 80 sightings of his daughter in Las Vegas.
Both of the woman’s parents are suing the Malibu Sheriff’s Department and Los Angeles County.
Michael Richardson also said that sheriff’s deputies discussed with him the possibility that his daughter was working as a prostitute, and he said it was possible that someone was keeping her from contacting her family and friends.
