Little change to Southland gas prices
30-day streak of increases
LOS ANGELES, Calif.—The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose one-tenth of a cent today to $4.323, one day after a 30-day streak of increases ended when it dropped one-tenth of a cent.
The average price is 3.5 cents more than one week ago, 57.3 cents higher than one month ago and 3.3 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
A 31-day streak of rising prices in Orange County ended today when it was unchanged, remaining at $4.312, 3.5 cents more than one week ago, 59.3 cents higher than one month ago and 2.7 cents greater than one year ago. The average price rose 59.4 cents during the streak, the longest since at least 2009.
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped to its lowest amount since Feb. 1 today, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $3.954.
The average price has dropped 47 times in 48 days, falling 34.6 cents over that span, including seven-tenths of a cent on Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
LOS ANGELES, Calif.—The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose to its highest amount since Oct. 14, 2008 today, increasing a half-cent to $3.45.
The average price is 5.5 cents more than a week ago, 7.1 cents higher than one month ago and 42 cents above what it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
LOS ANGELES, Calif.—The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose to its high for the year today for a third consecutive day, increasing 1.3 cents to $3.203.
A 1.9-cent increase Saturday put the price past its previous high for 2010, $3.156, which was reached on May 8. The average price rose another 2.2 cents Sunday.
CARSON, Calif. — Attorney General Kamala Harris and the Federal Trade Commission announced today that they have approved Tesoro’s $2 billion acquisition of a BP refinery in Carson.
Harris said the agreement she reached with Tesoro and BP would preserve jobs, ensure environmental retrofitting of the facility and protect from spikes in gas prices.

The average price is 5 cents more than one week ago but 3.2 cents less than one month ago and 5.8 cents lower than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price has increased 8.5 cents over the past 13 days, including three-tenths of a cent on both Monday and Tuesday.
