Old school basics
An Ultimate Transformation Moment
This week’s Ultimate Transformation Moment is directed towards parents and getting back to a few good old-school basics for our children.
It’s summertime, and we’re going old school. I understand that we live in a different day and age, and in many cases it’s a different environment outside, but, parents let’s get our children playing outside. Get them away from the television and computers. Allow them to use their creative minds and go outside to explore, to dream and grow. Take them out to ride their bikes, shoot some hoops, rollerblade. Hey, fly a kite.
Now, when you return home, there are some basic things within the house to attend to. Let’s make sure that your children know how to clean the house: how to sweep, how to mop, wash dishes, and do basic cleaning. Too soon, they will be off to college, and we want them to understand these basic concepts.
Along these same lines, teach them how to wash and iron their clothes. Teach the youth in your home to do these chores the right way. Help them understand how to keep the things that they have and keep them in good condition.
Allow them to be active participants in grocery shopping. Teach them how to create the shopping list, shop for the groceries and pay for them. They may even learn to prepare some basic meals. These are educational activities that empower our children.
Finally, teach them basic etiquette, such as a proper handshake and a proper greeting. When you walk into a room, introduce yourself. Make eye contact. We’re getting back to old school: “No sir. Yes sir. No ma’am. Yes ma’am.”
These terms may sound old school, but they help our children gain the respect for adults inside and outside of our homes, and help to promote the development of our country.
Again, let’s get back to old-school basics this summer. Get the children away from the television. Take some of this time to get them out of the house to become active. Then, let’s teach them how to clean the house, wash and iron our clothes, shop and cook basic meals and teach them basic etiquette as well.
It’s up to parents to parent, and one way is the old school way.
That’s our Ultimate Transformations Moment. Peace and be more.

This week’s Ultimate Transformation Moment seeks to re-establish some of the basic ground rules for academic achievement.
Turn off the television. The first rule during the school week, is to minimize the amount of television your children watch. If you would like, allow them to treat themselves during the weekend, for the duration that you are comfortable with. But during the academic week, the television remains off.
This week’s Ultimate Transformation Moment re-establishes the basic fact that you possess the most tremendous power of choice.
You have the power to choose. You have the power to determine what the best alternative, path or decision is for your individual self, your family, and your community. You can choose, but in choosing, you must be willing to put in the work that is required by your choice.
This week’s Ultimate Transformation Moment takes a look at the law of attraction.
We speak about the law of attraction so much, but we don’t really realize that we use the law of attraction everyday. Unfortunately, how we tend to use it works against us. Let’s make the commitment today, to use the law in the way that works for us.
This week’s Ultimate Transformation Moment is about motivation.
You may have heard the joke about the millionaire who hosts a pool party for employees. In the pool is a gang of deadly fish–sharks, piranhas and stingrays.
The host tells his guests, that if anyone is brave enough to dive into the pool and swim from one end to the other, he will give them any of his possessions that they desire.
