An ultimate transformation moment

The start of the school year is upon us. This being the case, our Ultimate Transformation Moment takes a look at readying our children for the new school year. Previously, I discussed the transition that we as adults make, as we cycle from the summer months into the fall. However, our young people have a transition to make as well.

As our children end the summer months, some of them may have been inactive academically and physically. Here are some suggestions to help your child transition into an incredible academic and fulfilling year ahead.

Achieving infinite possibilities through summer transitions

As the summer months come to an end, we look forward to fall and find ourselves in a time of transition.

Today’s Ultimate Transformation Moment focuses on the transition of our health and wellness program as we move from summer to fall.

The habits we’ve formed during the summer are in support of reaching specific individual goals.

As one designated period ends and another begins, it is a great time to start looking at new goals.

An Ultimate Transformation Moment

We sometimes miss opportunities to fully become the person we want to be or enjoy the full riches of life, because we overlook the present moment. We yearn to be somewhere else. Shakespeare writes, “Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we often might win by fearing to attempt.”

$2.5 million to develop new treatments for leukemia

LOS ANGELES  - A cancer researcher at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles was awarded a $2.5 million grant to develop new treatments for leukemia in children.

Dr. Fatih Uckun of the CHLA's Saban Research Institute received the grant from the National Cancer Institute for development of drugs used to fight acute lymphoblastic leukemia, the most common form of cancer in children and adolescents, according to hospital spokeswoman Ellin Kavanagh.

Uckun and his colleagues focus on medicines that specifically target leukemia cells.

An Ultimate Transformation Moment

Today’s Ultimate Transformation Moment is a response to questions posed by my clients regarding weight lifting. One of the biggest dilemmas in their fitness journey is how to incorporate weight training into a workout and maintain their cardio, particularly, since there are limited opportunities to train during an already heavily scheduled day.

Most people believe that the best way to lose weight is by using cardio workouts as the main form of exercise. However, weight training will also increase metabolism and continue weight loss.
