Laughter returns to Regency West in Leimert Park on Thursdays

Get ready to laugh out loud at yourself senseless, because the laughter is back in South LA. Leimert Park, reputed to be the mecca of black culture once again hosts The Comedy Act Theater under the new name of The Comedy Act Planet.

The brainchild of visionary Michael Williams, this home on the road to success for black comedians recently celebrated its ‘reopening reunion,’ bringing back memories and paying homage to Robin Harris, one of the funniest men to ever hit the stage, who was host of the weekly comedy showcase for over four years.

What do you do when you’ve lost something and you need to find it quick?

The first thing you probably do is holler for your Mom. She usually knows where everything is.

Then you start looking in your room, beneath your bed, in your closet, in your toybox, under the table, between the sofa cushions and anywhere you think you might have lost whatever it is you’re looking for. Eventually, you find it in the perfect hiding place for things like that.

Funny, funny, funny

“Land of the Lost” is a funny, ridiculous movie that reduces the feared T-Rex to a grumpy, deadly giant with a vendetta. It’s science meets outrageous comedy Will Ferrell style.

Ferrell (“Step Brothers”) is at it again, this time he stars as Dr. Rick Marshall, based on the NBC classic action/adventure 1970’s TV series “Land of the Lost” (1973-1977).

Universal acquired the feature rights from Sid and Marty Krofft, executive producers of the original television series, who produced the film for the studio.
