Hollywood by Choice

“Takers” is still going strong. Friday’s box office receipts put the movie in the number-three position fighting it out with George Clooney’s “The American,” and Robert Rodriguez’s “Machete.” And it looks like Julia Robert’s “Eat, Pray, Love” continues to be a contender along with “The Last Exorcism.” It is a sure bet however, that “Takers” will remain in the top five after the holiday box office receipts are counted.

You hate leaving your kids.

It’s not that you don’t want a break from them sometimes, because you need that for your sanity. And it’s not the pitiful way they cry, ripping your heart out, even though you know they’ll be playing 10 seconds after you’re through the door.

No, you hate leaving your kids because of that nagging little voice in the back of your head. It says that nobody can care for them the way you do.

"Takers" falls from first place

LOS ANGELES - George Clooney assassinated the competition to top the box office over the Labor Day weekend with his thriller "The American,'' besting the debut of "Machete'' and outpacing last week's champ, "Takers,'' according to final figures released.

"The American'' earned $16.7 million between Friday and Monday's Labor Day holiday, while "Machete'' -- starring first-time leading man Danny Trejo -- collected $14.1 million in its debut to place second, according to Hollywood.Com Box-Office.

Bryant Gumbel is one of the most outstanding journalists in news and sports reporting in America. That’s a broad statement I know, but his work speaks for itself. And, apparently I’m not the only one who thinks so.

The word is out that Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie, who created ABC’s hit women’s talk show, “The View,” and serve as its executive producers, are quietly developing a “unisex” spin-off that will attempt to inject a male perspective into the topics of the day.

An ultimate transformation moment

Where's the best restaurant in greater LA to have a traditional seafood dinner? Not fancy pan-Asian Fusion Cuisine, but some seriously good fish/shellfish.

Thanks!!

I brought a batch of these to OW and everyone loved them - they're easy to make, except handling the dough is messy (it's roughly the same consistency as frosting). Be sure to keep them at a...
