A laptop, some empty fireworks and a jar of Vaseline landed three friends of Boston Marathon bomb suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in jail Wednesday, charged with trying to throw investigators off their buddy’s trail.

Traffic problems are causing sheriff’s deputies to increase their patrols around Palmdale schools, authorities said today.

Problems include parents parking illegally in red zones, stops in traffic lanes impeding traffic, motorists turning where turns are prohibited, speeding in school zone, failing to stop at the direction of a crossing guard and parents who drop their children off in the middle of the street, according to Deputy Jodi Wolfe.
