A new source for reporting crimes and maintenance problems

PALMDALE, Calif—The city’s new Palmdale Pride Line gives residents the ease of remembering and using only one telephone number, 94-PRIDE, or (661) 947-7433, instead of five different telephone numbers to report graffiti, suspected hate crimes, anonymous crime tips, stray shopping carts, and traffic signal or maintenance problems.

The hotline phone number is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and callers will have a menu choice of five items to contact or they will get a phone number to call city hall during regular business hours, said communications manager John Mlynar.

The current crime tip hotline that rings at the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station—(661) 272-2414—remains in operation.

The city also has an after-hours emergency phone line to report issues such a s sewer overflows, roadway and right-of-way hazards including broken tree limbs, fallen street signs, potholes, or broken sprinkler lines in city parks and landscaped areas. The number is (661) 266-3195. Residents may use it between 6 p.m. and 7:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday and all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
